that matter: 2019 pet parent survey
results
Lisa Demme, FONA International's
marketing director, and Kathleen
Crossman, FONA International's vice
president of regulatory, share and
interpret the results of their 2019
proprietary nationwide survey of pet parents across
generations. From baby boomers to Generation Z, let's
explore the label claims and product attributes that
consumers will be looking for in pet food, treats and

consumer landscape mean for the pet food, treats and
supplement market? What claims are driving purchase
intent with today's consumer?

2 p.m.-2:30 p.m. AAFCO pet food label
modernization: What's ahead?
David Dzanis, DVM, Ph.D., DACVN,
CEO of Regulatory Discretion Inc.,
provides information on contemplated changes to the AAFCO
Model Pet Food Regulations and

the labeling of all pet foods distributed in the U.S.
Significant changes in the way nutrient content
information is presented, new "front-of-pack"
nutritional adequacy graphics, mandatory safe
handling verbiage and changes to the ingredient
declaration are being considered. While nothing is
final to date, it behooves the pet food industry to
keep abreast of these developments.

structures for pet food packaging

pet food packaging alternatives that offer a more
